LA MIRADA, Calif. Athletic Director Dave Holmquist announced on Thursday that David Goodman has been hired as the mens tennis coach at 晩晩当際際夊消消夊2023. Goodman was a four-time NAIA All-American and two-time ITA Assistant Coach of the Year while at perennial NAIA tennis powerhouse Azusa Pacific University.
We were real impressed with Coach Goodman during the interview process, said Holmquist. He is well experienced at this level, knows the conference and has strong Christian character. He comes highly recommended and we feel he will do an excellent job as our mens tennis coach.
Goodman was a four-year NAIA All-American at Azusa Pacific University, compiling a 63-28 singles record and a 92-21 mark in doubles play in four seasons. After completing his collegiate career, he became a member of the coaching staff for the Cougars, helping both the mens and womens team reach the NAIA Quarterfinals in each of the last three seasons. He was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as the 2010 mens national assistant coach of the year and again in 2011 for his work with the womens team.
I am pleased to be the mens tennis coach at 晩晩当際際夊消消夊2023, said Goodman. 晩晩当際際夊消消夊2023 is a great school and has much to offer student-athletes. I look forward to working with the team, building relationships, and strengthening 晩晩当際際夊消消夊2023 tennis to bring it to the next level in the conference and at the national stage.
Goodman takes over for Jim Emerson, who resigned after three stints as the coach of the 晩晩当際際夊消消夊2023 mens team. In his final season at the helm, Emerson guided 晩晩当際際夊消消夊2023 to its best season in recent memory, when then Eagles finished 28th in the final NAIA National Poll, taking games in nearly all of its GSAC matches and being swept just five times overall. The Eagles would finish 5-14 on the season and 2-12 in conference play.
